4) Next, copy the 550.PBP, and paste it in the root of your memory stick.
5) You should now have the UPDATE folder in ms0:/PSP/GAME, and the 550.PBP in the root of your stick.
6) disconnect your PSP from the USB connection with PC, on the psp screen, scroll to GAME/MEMORY STICK and run the installer.
7) If you did everything right, you would now be on 5.50GEN-D.

PSP Extended 2200MAH Battery

Got myself another PSP Extended 22ooMAH battery from www.play-asia.com. This battery can add another 83.33% battery life to my psp slim. Almost double play time of the original 1200MAH battery. It makes my psp 2000 (psp slim) a little bit bulky, but not that much. The most important thing is i got more than 10 hours battery life in just a single charge. It's a must have item when i am on long trips without access to a plug.

CPS3 Emulator for PSP (FBA modded version)

Just noticed that there is a modded version of FBA (FBA-LB V9-4), it can run CPS3 game. I tried the Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike. It's too slow. About 10 to 15 fps. Hopefully the next version will be faster or an option to disable sound to get faster speed.
Btw, you must have the japanese rom, sfiiin.zip in order to successfully run this game.

GAIA Crusaders (almost perfect, with little cracking sound)

Samurai Dou Portable will be released on September

For those who like to play Samurai games, now here comes the Samurai Dou Portable for PSP. The graphic looks quite good.

Beware of cheap 16GB MS Pro Duo for PSP

In China, you can get a 16GB Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo (Mark 2 series) for less than $90, but beware, there will be some problems for certain so called 16GB capacity. It's not like the fake or modified MS Pro Duo, it's a combination of 2 units 8GB memory chips into a single MS Pro Duo Package.

The first chip is performing quite well at about 10MB/s Read and Write Speed, but the second chip is actually a real slow speed chip at 2MB/s Read/Write. Imagine the amount of time to copy a 1GB file, with the 2MB/s write speed, it takes 500 seconds or 8.33 minutes. To fill the 8GB fully, there is more than 1 hour.

Comparing this with the Real Sony 16GB MS Pro Duo price, you get what you pay for.

MicroSD to MS Pro Duo Adaptor Testing

Bought the MicroSD to MS Pro Duo Adaptor, the first test is the data transfer speed test using the BlackSpeed V2 software.

The 1G microSD card was from Kingston, its Read speed is 20MB/s and Write Speed is 11MB/s. Let's see what is the speed after using the adaptor.

it's about 6MB/s Read and 7.5MB/s Write. Not too bad, but it might be a bit slow when loading bigger files. Also, it's a bit tight when inserting the adaptor into the PSP. Might not be good for frequent insert/eject, hopefully it won't damage the PSP memory slot. Will it be the same built quality for the CR-5400 Photofast MS Pro Duo Adapter?

The MicroSD to MS Pro Duo adaptor definitely can't compare with the Lexar 4G Platinum II with Read speed 16.5MB/s and Write Speed 11.5MB/s.

CR-5400 Photofast MS Pro Duo adapter for PSP / PSP SLIM

There is a Taiwan company, called PhotoFast, announced a Memory Stick adaptor, which can support up to 2 units of micro-SD memory cards (a.k.a TF cards). I’m not so confident of this type of adaptor. There are 2 major issues:
1) The data transfer speed
2) Software Compatibility
The adaptor name is called CR-5400 Photofast MS Pro Duo adapter for PSP / PSP SLIM. I saw something similar at my place, it’s not from PhotoFast. I’m going to get one and do a simple speed test and compatibility test. If it’s really fast enough and with good software compatibility, then I will consider getting one and two units of TF-cards, making a 16GB storage for my psp.

Photofast CR-5400 is now available for sale at $19 only. You can buy it from Amazon .com CR-5400 Photofast store.

There is another SDHC to Memory Stick Pro Duo Adaptor from Photofast. It's Photofast CR3100. It can convert 16GB x 2 SDHC memory cards into a 32GB storage for PSP 2000 or PSP 3000. You can also order it now from Amazon.com .

PSP Gundam vs Gundam Game will be released in Nov!
