Samurai Dou Portable will be released on September

For those who like to play Samurai games, now here comes the Samurai Dou Portable for PSP. The graphic looks quite good.

Beware of cheap 16GB MS Pro Duo for PSP

In China, you can get a 16GB Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo (Mark 2 series) for less than $90, but beware, there will be some problems for certain so called 16GB capacity. It's not like the fake or modified MS Pro Duo, it's a combination of 2 units 8GB memory chips into a single MS Pro Duo Package.

The first chip is performing quite well at about 10MB/s Read and Write Speed, but the second chip is actually a real slow speed chip at 2MB/s Read/Write. Imagine the amount of time to copy a 1GB file, with the 2MB/s write speed, it takes 500 seconds or 8.33 minutes. To fill the 8GB fully, there is more than 1 hour.

Comparing this with the Real Sony 16GB MS Pro Duo price, you get what you pay for.

MicroSD to MS Pro Duo Adaptor Testing

Bought the MicroSD to MS Pro Duo Adaptor, the first test is the data transfer speed test using the BlackSpeed V2 software.

The 1G microSD card was from Kingston, its Read speed is 20MB/s and Write Speed is 11MB/s. Let's see what is the speed after using the adaptor.

it's about 6MB/s Read and 7.5MB/s Write. Not too bad, but it might be a bit slow when loading bigger files. Also, it's a bit tight when inserting the adaptor into the PSP. Might not be good for frequent insert/eject, hopefully it won't damage the PSP memory slot. Will it be the same built quality for the CR-5400 Photofast MS Pro Duo Adapter?

The MicroSD to MS Pro Duo adaptor definitely can't compare with the Lexar 4G Platinum II with Read speed 16.5MB/s and Write Speed 11.5MB/s.
